About the artist
Šimon Kučera is a Slovak visual artist primarily focused on painting and printmaking, based in Prague, Czech Republic.
He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava (VŠVU), where he studied in the Department of Painting under Professor Ivan Csudai, earning his Mgr. Art. degree in 2021.
Kučera's practice is rooted in geometric abstraction — his works extend into relief canvases, where abstract forms and spatial effects intersect with object-based principles, creating a unique synthesis of painting and object. He finds deep inspiration in the digital environment, which he sees as an inseparable part of contemporary existence.
His work focuses on composition, color, shape, and optical illusion. He continuously transforms these visual sources into new possibilities of representation. His works are held in private collections worldwide.
