About the artist
Šimon Kučera grew up on a housing estate in Slovakia. The most interesting thing around was a computer screen. He learned colour from pixels before he learned it from paint. He learned geometry from interfaces before he learned it from books.
He studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design (AFAD), Bratislava, Slovakia, under prof. Ivan Csudai. Graduated 2021. Moved to Prague. Kept painting.
His work is about what gets left inside you when you grow up between two worlds — the concrete and the glowing, the physical and the digital, the thing you felt but couldn't name. He paints shapes that carry memory the way a room carries light. Not illustrating anything. Just holding it.
Works in private collections across Europe, North and South America.
